3 Months Late Now With Negative Hpt?

Filed in Category Answers - Sex

I have gone to the local womens clinic 3 times now, and am still feeling so unsure. my last AF was 3/28/09 and between then and now i have only had minimal spotting here and there (mostly after sex) I would be 10 weeks as of yesterday if i am indeed pregnant. I had 2 urine tests at the clinic which both came back negative as well as a qual. blood test a month and a half ago which was negative. Just recently I have been getting like pressure/tender feelings below my belly button and it looks like i am extremely bloated. (being 110lbs trust me you notice) The only other major symptoms i have are nausea and vomitting constantly and tired all the time. Also I have been peeing A LOT more..(feels like i have to go again right after I do)..anyways..ive taken COUNTLESS hpt’s and they are all negative/unconvincing. Blue dye tests ALWAYS show a bright yet thin blue line and pink dye tests show nothing..I FEEL like something is going on and i am getting worried but the docs said Im just “preparing for a big period”….you dont prepare for 3 months!! I am ALWAYS regular with 28 day cycles..please..any advice..or hopes of this turning out good!! I am finding a new doc first thing monday morning but this is just really bothering me..
babydust to everyone!!
***ps..I am married and actively ttc..i am not under any stress and have not gained or lost weight recently..**

  1. Hi
I went doctors every week for hpt and always negative.
I found out when i was 8 weeks pregnant.

  2. Of COURSE you are under stress, you are under stress TTC! that can definitely be it. I havent had my period since the end of March, and I know its due to stress and over-exercising. Do you know if you ovulated> I know im getting my period soon (or my HPT, HERES HOPING) cause i know i ovulated on Monday. So I’m pretty sure if you ovulate, you get your period

  3. Hun it sounds like you might be the next one to appear on the “i didnt know i was pregnant” show!! LoL nah,i would just go back to the dr. and get another blood test,if you was pregnant it should def. show up in your blood test by now, cause some people cant take a HPT it dont work for them…best of luck to you!

  4. Sweetie you need to give up on this cycle. Go see your doctor and get something to get your period going then start ttcing again. 3 mos??!!! your just wasting time,

  5. It sounds like you are pregnant! The doctors don’t know everything : )

  6. Did you just recently get off of some sort of birth control? If so, it can take your body up to a year to get “normal” again. If that is the case or even if it isn’t, I would give a call to your doctor and either get a blood test to see if you are pregnant (which are way more accurate than the HPT) or see if there might be something wrong. (My docs told me to wait it out for three months to get the BCP out of my system and if after that three months no AF, I should call them to get on some sort of pill that CAUSES you to have your period. That may be an option as well.)
Another suggestion is to get the book “Taking Charge of Your Fertility.” It is a really informative read to help you understand what is going on with your body. It teaches you to take and read your temperatures to figure out when you might possibly be ovulating, when your period will begin, and helps explain little problems that may be causing this extended absence of a period.
    Good luck with everything!!

  7. You need to speak with your doctor or seek a new one about other possibilities than pregnancy or mensus. You describe vomiting, fatigue, pressure on your bladder, a change in your cycle, as well as bloating. Has it occurred to either you or your doctor to check for a growth/tumor of some nature. It would account for all of your symptoms. Request a blood cell count. A very simple blood test that requires only one vial of blood, to check your counts. This test will show if your system is currently fighting something of this nature. Also an abdominal scan/ultrasound would show if a mass were indeed present. Sometimes both a patient and a doctor become so fixated on the idea of a single cause of symptoms that other possibilities are overlooked. Please, be sure to discuss other possibilities with your doctor and insist on them being checked for. A doctor who does not listen to their patient and who does not discuss other options and possibilities is a doctor who should not be practiciing. As for “preparing for a big period” I have never heard of such a thing, and if this is your doctors explanation then he/she should be able to clearly explain what this is and why it is happening, if not, you need to seek a new doctor.
