Are the diamonds sold in stores made out of dead bodies?

Filed in Category Diamonds

I know people can be made into diamonds when they die. But I also heard making diamonds are cheap, so some jewelry companies are buying unclaimed cremated ashes and making diamonds out of them, and they are barely mined anymore. So your wedding ring could be made out of some random dead dudes body, or some rats carcase, and you might not even know it. So you could have a dead dude on your finger right now, and have no idea. Are most of the diamonds made out of dead people and animals? Or are most still mined?

  1. no

  2. No. But people are exploited and die trying to get the shiny rocks so idiots can wear them around their necks as a display of wealth.

  3. carbon, diamonds are made of highly compressed carbon and the human body only has trace amounts of that, what you’ll have with a dead body is water we’re over 80% that carbon i think either 7% or 4%

  4. I’ve heard of some cat eyes can turn into diamond it might be a myth but never heard of dead bodies can turn into diamond.

  5. oh please

  6. Daimonds are mined extensively in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Russia and Australia to name a few. They can be manufactured at high pressure and temperature relatively cheaply. They are not made from dead people, rats or indeed that pizza you found down the back of the sofa last night.
