Can anyone answer my question about being fashionable?

Generally speaking, in order to be “fashionable”, shouldn’t shoe color match purse color?

  4. Not necessarily. If they look nice when matched, then so be it. Even if they are not matched, they can look good together.

  5. I do not follow that rule, I match my bag to my outfit, not my shoes.

  6. No, that’s very old fashioned and a good way to look dated and unfashionable. Unless you are over 65, never match shoes and purse. The term used by the fashion police is the very negative “mitchy-matchy” and you want to look “put together” not “mitchy matchy.” To look modern and fashionable turn shoes and purse into focal points. Purses are now such hot accessories that they should stand on their own and few shoe companies even make purses that match the shoes. A pair of stunning bright colour shoes and a metallic purse adds drama to a simple fall skirt and top. Or dress up a weekend casual look of a denim skirt and jacket with a pair of brown suede boots and a large leather tote in a jewel colour and covered in bright metal accents. As you can see, the two now make statements and your outfit has gone from bland and “mitchy-matchy” to fashion forward and dramatic.
