Dieting tips for a teen girl?

Ok so im trying to loose some weight before school starts next year. I have been cutting pictures of models out of magazines and hanging them on my mirrors and refridgerator. Do u think this will work? Also, do you have any tips on what i can eat while at school, exercises to do, anything like that? And don’t say that i don’t need to loose weight because i really do! I need to loose about 45 pounds and i have almost 5 months to do it. What can i do??? Thanx!

I have been doing a dance routine that incorperates exercise movements with normal dancing, and walking on the tread mill also.
Im thinking of becoming a vegitarian… would this help?

  1. sounds to me that you’re on your way!

    Eat balanced meals, and maybe just play a sport or dance around the house, you’ll be surprised how many calories you can burn!


  2. Find an exercise or activity that you enjoy that get’s you movin’! It might be a dance class, cheer, gymnastics, swimming, golf, softball, whatever is your passion then do it!
    On the eating, I suggest low fat dairy products ( skim milk, lowfat cheese and organic yogurt,) whole grain breads, rices, and pastas, lots of fruits and veggies ( like spinach leaves, iceburg lettuce has no nutritional value,) and get some protein. If you’re a vegetarian, like me, protein can be difficult. You can get it in nuts, soy, beans, eggs, and many other foods.


  3. I agree with that one where you join a group you like, dancing or swimming…anything to get you going. Food is a little tougher…protein is a must. Make sure you try and eat smaller meals more times a day. Like 6 times a day.


  4. I understand were your coming from. This is the perfect time to try and lose wieght. I do agree that the pictures you cut out will help, just as long as they inspire you. The other piece of advice i can give you (which helped me) is if you take in a lot more calories than you burn, you’ll just keep gaining weight. Eat smaller portions of food more often during the day. And don’t forget how important exercise is. You burn calories just by standing so imagine what you can do if you jog every morning. Good luck with your wieght loss goal.


  5. Running is the best all over fat burner. If you do not like running, have breathing problems or cannot run, you can walk at an incline. For example if you walk on a treadmill at 4 mph at 10 incline for 45 minutes, you have burned 500 calories. Eat mostly fruits, vegetables, and protiens. Try to cut back on sugar or not eat anything full of sugar such as candy, cookies, etc but natural sugars (found in fruit) are fine. Here is a meal plan that will help you lose weight fast and not be too hard to follow:

    BREAKFAST
    1/2 grapefruit
    2 egg whites
    slice of whole wheat toast

    LUNCH
    pear
    banana
    Fiber One bar
    serving size bag of Sunchips(your choice of flavor)
    celery with peanut butter

    DINNER
    breaded and baked fish (any kind you like) or chicken
    peas or any kind of vegetable
    brown rice

    SNACKS
    cottage cheese
    fruit
    vegetables
    protien shake (one scoop protien powder, nonfat milk, frozen fruit)

    Also make sure you drink enough water. Drink one glass on nonfat skim milk a day or have it in a shake and then drink NOTHING but water. Take your weight and divide it by 2. The convert pounds to ounces. For example, if you weighed 150 lbs then divide by 2 = 75 lbs then convert to ounces – 75 ounces of water a day. Make sure to drink that much water every day.

  6. Eat less, eat healthy foods, and exercise more. The key to any diet actually working is to eat the right foods (the ones in the pyramid) and to expell as much engery, if not more, than you take in.

    Just eat a healthy balance of the right types of food.

    Whatever you do, DO NOT stop eating all together. That is just flirting with disaster.

    Rip down those pictures of models and just figure out what weight is healthiest for you and post that target number everywhere. Find an outfit you REALLY want to wear on the first day of school and post a picture of it too. Those models do not hold a realistic picture of the female body and will only hurt your efforts rather than help them.

    my freind thought she was going to diet and ended up almost anerexsic

    dieting is sick

    what you need to do is eat healthy but good tasting foods….

    and what you do if you want to eat is increase your matabilism enjoy sprots or just do like 20 situps and pushups everyday b4 you sleep .. don forget and if you do your wieght will

    and instead of other dirnks (espeicially gatoride) drink PURE water it will make you loose weight and you wont gain it back..

  9. Don’t completely change your diet around to becoming vegetarian, i wanted to lose 5kgs, and i stopped eating meat and ate salads all the time and you know what happened? I ended up in hospital, not because i became anorexic but because i developed gaesophogal reflux. Poking my stomach the tiniest bit made me burst out in tears from the pain.

    Dont put up pictures of models everywhere, if you do that, you’ll never be happy with your body until you become stick thin like they are, you know why there stick thin? They don’t eat at all, there not allowed to eat anything nice for themselves and if they gain those extra 2kgs there no longer models so behind the skinnyness they are suffering.

    Do dancing, that’ll definately work, or do a sport like soccer. Also, take away junk food from whatever you eat, junk food is no longer there.
    Eat salads every now and then but like i said don’t change your eating habits completely.

    Do sit ups, instead of getting driven somewhere walk there if its within walking distance, run around at a park, stay motivated to lose weight.

    It’ll take longer than 5 months to lose that weight, but if your motivated and WANT TO lose the weight, you wont care about how long it takes, you’ll just care about losing weight.
