A lot of the major cosmetic companies conduct animal testing and I really prefer that I do not buy from these companies. However, I do not want to spend a fortune on makeup but still want decent quality in the makeup I purchase. Any suggestions?

Almay, Avon, Physicians Formula, Revlon are affordable and easy to find cosmetics brands that don’t test on animals.
The Body Shop and Aveda also carry their own cosmetics lines.
Clinique and Stila Cosmetics are more expensive but very good and cruelty-free.
Here are some lists of companies and brands:

I agree with you!
I found a wonderful natural mineral makeup line that does not do animal testing. I have also spent more money on other products that do not perform half as well as kms mineral essentials. I am really impressed with the quality of the product and the wear I get as well.
DEFINITLY buy N.Y.C color cosmetics. they have an amazing quality for such a low price. you can pick them up at most drugstores.
Stila is also very good (and my personal fave) but a lot more expensive. For ex. you could buy 22 N.Y.C lipsticks for the price of one stila lipstick.
And ofcourse both are cruelty free!
