I have a computer architecture test and the instructor said that each type of edge triggered flip flop can be made from the other type. I seached though the book and could not find an example of this. I was hoping that perhaps someone could explain how this works or provide a link to an example of this. On the wikipedia Entry for flip flops it says this can be true as well but provides no link. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

   The most obvious is the Tflipflop out of the Dflipflop, simply connect the QN of the DFF to the D input.
   Another example is making a JK FF out of a DFF: just think about its characteristic eqn: JK is JQ’ + K’Q, so this can be made from a DFF. The D input is therefore determined by (JQ’ + K’Q): two AND gates and an OR.

   are u trying yo make a counter 0 to 9 or (0 to F) using FFs
   u can make them out of 7474
   u will need 4 of them for a 4 bit to drive a 7447 or 7448 a 7 segment led driver
