I recently bought some tapioca pearls at an Asian grocery because I wanted to make some bubble tea. I have never made it before, so I don’t know what the uncooked pearls are supposed to look and smell like. Half of the package was a darker brown color, but on the other side of the package the pearls look faded or dried out. The pearls also smell kind of bad, but again, I don’t know what they normally smell like. I don’t know if this is normal or not.
