Wanted to set my engagement ring with something a little more unique and came across a store which sells green diamond rings. Really like the color but not sure if it is a good alternative to regular white diamonds. Any info, opinions?
Thanks.

The name of those dimonds are emralds… i find them beautiful; however, they’re not very common on engagement rings, but I think that’s great. You’d be original… I’d go for it. The price variates.
As with all diamonds, clarity determines the value of the stone. If the diamond is clean, it will be valuable no matter what color it is. Green diamonds that are not treated are very very rare and prohibitively expensive. A good alternative are color treated stoned. That is why, most sellers that carry green diamonds use color treated stones. The process by which the diamonds are treated can create yellow, blue or green color, depending on the trace chemicals present in the diamond. Green color is the most vivid of the group and is a nice alternative the the traditional white.
http://www.belljewels.com/ carries a wide selection of colored diamond engagement rings, including green diamonds.
Hope this helps.
Most of the green diamonds are not natural but treated by radiation. Natural green diamond is rare and most of them has natural radiation which GIA can’t say if it is natural or not. To my opinion for engagement ring the nicer diamond is whit. If you want to learn more about diamonds and engagement rings, please look at my blog at http://loose.diamonds.verifiedbuy.com
