The one I want to work at his split level. The bottom floor is where they sell clothes and jewelry. It is also were the receptionist is. That is where I would be.
They do the tattoos and piercings upstairs.
Would it be against the law for me to work there, or would it be discrimination if the said no because i am too young?

   You are to young to work anywhere at 14!

   you have to be 16 to get a job by law 18 and over 4 tatto shops because they can get sued

   Most places do not employ minors under the age of 16 but most tattoo shops do not employ people under the age of 18.It is not age discrimination it is the legal guidelines employers have to follow.

   yup in most states its illegal for you to work period with out parental permission . I know that in most states you need to be 15 or 16 to start working .. but check with your local school they will have all the rules in your state that pertain to child labor

   There are many federal and state labor laws for minors. If they said no it is because it would be hard to deal with them in maintaining the laws. Unless it is your own family that owns the business, you will have a real hard time finding work until you are 16.

   The legality of your age and working might be the problem, not the type of work. If there are regulations against you working in an environment with possible exposure to blood borne pathogens then there is no question of discrimination.

   It’s against the law in most states to hire a 14 year old period.

   I believe there is a law against it, because you have to be 18 to get a tattoo, Im not sure how things are in your state though.. In Missouri you have to be 18 to work in a tattoo parlor, Blockbuster, etc.
