I don’t mean to psycho-analyze (okay, maybe a bit) but my boyfriend has been watching these two movies quite a bit- even using some of the same lines unconsciously. I haven’t watched either completely so is there any movie buffs out there that can spot some similarities and tell me what the draw is? He’s also reading a lot of philosophy books if that helps. Thanks!!

   Does not matter at all.
   Main character in Good Will Hunting is a genius, but has some social/emotional issues. Main character in Fight Club has a split personality. Both are popular movies.
   Maybe he’s just interested in philosophy?
   If you’re really worried, ask him about it, but it’s nothing.

   I have not seen Good Will Hunting but I am obsessed with Fight Club.
   The reason a lot of people like it is because it is smart and intelligent.
   It is not just about people kicking the crap out of each other.
   It is about consumerism and conforming to society
   Fight Club is made as a way to isolate themselves.
   In Fight Club you can be whoever you want to be.
   It is also about anarchy as well.
   The reason he likes it so much is why everyone likes it
   It makes you think!
   You should definitely watch it and TRUST me it takes a few times of watching it
   to really get all you can from it.

   well they’re both masterpieces of 20th century cinema so damn right he should watch them, though doing so constantly and quoting the lines is kinda overdoing it… maybe you should rent some other films for him to watch
