Thinking About Getting A Lower Back Tattoo?

was thinking about getting a tattoo for my 29th birthday , a gift from me to me , was thinking about getting a lower back tattoo. Been looking online and looking for ideas and been asking some people about it and read like only one site about it.
I been getting mixed results from diffrent people about it. And i do not have a idea really , we’ll a few things i thought looked cool for a lower back tatoo, but it seems like mostly females get it.
so my question is do you think a lower back tattoo would look good on a guy. and second what would be a good tattoo is someone would get one, And please no funny wise cracks , i know there will be some!

I have never seen a guy with a tatt there, how about a neck to bum tatt along the spine. Something simple in black, a few spirals and sharp lines, that would look pretty good in my opinion.
No wise cracks here! I am 29 and have a tat on my lower back that I love and it did not hurt anymore than any where else i have had..I would make a suggestion, though..I think that a tat on the lower back is “sexy feminine”..If you want it on your back, go for between you houlder blades.. I think that is incredibly sexy on a man..as far as a design, I would keep my eye out for a design that I could NOT live without! This IS permanent!! If you are dead set on going ahead with it, try a tribal design..I went a got a temporary tattoo in the location I wanted it, just to see how it would look, that will give you the best idea of the outcome as far as size and color..Good Luck!
PS~ If this is your first, they will get your design and make a transfer copy of it then stain it on you like a rub on tattoo..you will be allowed to look at it or even wear that for a few days to make sure you like it..it lasts for about a week..
1. the closer a tat is to bone the more the pain, and it is all in your tolerance level.
2. on a guy skulls, lions and motorcycles or vicious dogs always look good on the lower back, hope i helped.
The most important part of a tattoo besides knowing that they are permanent is that they mean something to YOU. It should be something that you like and you said you have an idea….then go to a tattoo parlor and discuss it with one of the artists.
Hey its your body get it where you want i will say i have never seen a lower back tatto on a guy before and as for what you want to put on choose something you like it will be on your body for life…when i got mine(on my lower back) i looked at all the pics in the shop an chose one when i come back for my appointment i spotted a blue rose that was in another tatto and the guy said if you want just that part i will do it we can adjust to what you want…i walked out a very happy person with the end result. Choose your artist well
umm if i were you i wouldnt get a tatt there… and second you have to find something that you like and not what other people like… its on your body so you pick out what you like and not what other people might like…i have 3 tatts and there is meaning behind all of them…but good luck

Normally, that’s a place where females get them. But I have seen quite a few males with tattoos there too. My husband actually has one there. Be warned though, it tends to hurt in that spot!
It’s good treat oneself. But before you dive in at the deep end, have a good think about it as a Tattoo will be with you for life and even with surgery to remove it doesnt always remove it all. So have a long hard think before you decorate your body. If you decide that you want to go ahead research the subject thourghly eg buy some tattoo magazines as they are more afformative as its a specialist magazine. I personally think Tattoo’s are awful and as you get older look more disgusting. I think the human body looks far better without ink art! But that is just my point of view. Just take your time whatever you do as it’s no good rushing a decision like this!
In my opinion the only time a tattoo should hit a guys lower back is if it covers his WHOLE back…if your going for an expansive tattoo why not think about across your upper back from shoulder to shoulder? What you put on your body should be your own decision…depends on your personality and preference. Tattooing you body is YOUR expression…consider seriously what you want to say!

a lower back tattoo is a bulls eye…if you dont know what im talking about watch wedding crashers. it’s pretty much a girl thing…unless you are looking to attract some dudes…then go for it man

Guys shouldn’t get that totto ever, and really girls shouldn’t either. It’s cliche.
Are you going to wear low rise pants and allow your thong to hang out so your nasty a*s crack and tattoo can be seen? If not, then by all means, get the tattoo.
I have never heard of or seen a dude with a tramp stamp(lower back tatt). Don’t do it dude!!
I think that if you want a tat on your lower back, then get it. I had a male friend who got a tat around his belly button (which is more typical of females as well), but it looks hot. I would suggest getting something original but with a tribal flair. I know am female, but my lower back tat is a combination of a butterfly, roses, and tribal art…it looks HOT I might add lol. I worked with the artist to make previously drawn tats unique to me.
I got mine in 3 different stages though and if your pain tolerance isn’t great you may want to get different parts at different times depending on how big you want it to be.
FYI-i don’t know if it is true for males but for me, the parts directly on my spine hurt WAY less (actually barely at all) than the parts that go outward and dip onto my upper behind. This may help you choose placement of it, if you don’t want a lot of pain.
