I am going to be in south lake tahoe for the new years eve, so it will be freezing, i bought a dress, but my friend just reminded me that it is goign to be cold and that i should either wear tights or leggings… i have a navy blue “bubble dress” (very cute), and it hits mid thigh, i have black leggings that i could wear, or my friend suggested wearing with fishnets, and i have nude fishnets that i think would pair well. So that is my first question, tights or leggings?
My second question is what kind of shoes. I have some really cute black peep toes or some strappy silver shoes, but i think it is a huge faux pas to wear either with tights… or should i just go buy some black closed toe pumps?
Any cold weather fashion advice will help, i’m from SF, so i have no clue.
Also, we will be in a club most likely for most of the night, so do you think i could even pull it off bare legged?

   Nude fishnets are NOT going to keep you warm! You should really go with the black leggings, as they’ll go better with the dress anyway. I looked up the weather in Lake Tahoe for New Year’s Eve, and the low is 20 degrees. Even if you are going to be in a club, the short walk from car to club will be almost unbearable in a minidress bare-legged. So I think the best idea would be black leggings.
   And I think the black peep toes sound really cute–I wish I was wearing what you have for New Years!
   Just make sure to take along a warm jacket that you can discard at the door. And if you think you can get away with wearing a cute v-neck shirt (maybe 3/4 length?) under the dress, that’ll help too.

   If I were you, I’d match the color of my tights as close as possible to the dress, and wear cute black calf high boots (lace-up or not) outside and carry your closed toe pumps to wear inside. Outdoors, wear a hat, and bring a wrap that will work in the cold, the wind, and if there is a snowfall. The longer the better! Wear black 3/4 or wrist high gloves for a sleek, ’30′s glam look. Be sure to wear bling and a touch of fake fur. Enjoy your New Year’s!

   Some thick, textured tights would look really nice. Pair them with some booties if you have them. I saw a lot of girls here in Texas with leggings underneath their dresses but with flats, so their feet and ankles are totally exposed (and cold I’m sure). Then I saw another girl with a similar outfit but with booties, it was a very cute look!

   I’d say the leggings they would look cute with the dress and shoes you have. For cold weather advice, just wear a coat and take it off when you get there or find a cute scarf, like a white knit one.

   okaaaaay since its gonna be cold I’d go with tights…but since your dress is navy please dont wear black. instead, think outside the box and look around for some SILVER tights. this would look so cute- especially if you throw on your cute silver strappy shoes you mentioned and add some big silver hoops and a cute silver necklace! The tights will give you added warmth but keep in mind you’ll be in a club- so theres no need to go way over the top. You still wanna look hot! Give yourself smoky eyes, nude lips, and tousled hair, and you’ll be ready to party! Happy New Year, party hard and stay safe!

   It depends on the material of the dress. However, go with tights. You will get overheated in leggings. Leggings will not go with heels. Covering your legs completely with thick material like leggings, then showing off bare feet is tacky. Tights work so much better. If you wear tights, no peep toe. Closed toe pumps work best and you can wear them for tons of other occasions.
