Does every arena do something different or is there a tradition they follow after collecting all the hats? There were hundreds of hats on the ice after Kane’s hat trick tonight . . . just wondering what they are going to do with them.

   the arena employees do their christmas shopping

   They put them in the players locker!

   He can do what he wants with them.

   I was at the game and I can confirm there were not “hundreds” of hats. There were 25-50 hats. It was a great game, prolly the best sports game i have ever been to.

   Some teams collect them and display them in a huge glass cabinet in the arena. Some arenas put the hats out after a game so the people (based on the honour system) can pick them back up after the game.

   I always figured that they donate them to charity

   they donate them to charity n also will ship them to homeless shelters

   they are taken away and given to cherity if good if not garbage can
