I know there are many sub-genres (and you shouldn’t place yourself in a group) but, I want to know what do girls in these “groups” wear.

   -Now these are just labels. Everyone is an individual-
   Urban- More of a ‘ghetto’ style. Guys wear baggy clothes, and sagging pants. Girls are sort of preppy, but with a street edge. Think Baby Phat, Phat Farm, Sean John, Rocawear, etc.
   Preppy- Bright colors, tight clothes, short skirts, low tops. Stores like Hollister, Abercrombie&Fitch, Aeropostale, American Eagle, etc. ‘Preps’ often try to be something else.
   Emo- Alot of black. Neon colors. Striped leggings. Band merch. Often with a punk and/or skater edge.Such as Hot Topic clothes. ‘Scene’ hair. Guys often wear girl cut pants, and makeup. Music is a major influence.
   Punk- Some metal and spikes. Usually baggier clothing. Darker colors, but also some neons. Music is a major influence. Sometimes gothic, emo and/or skater edge.
   Skater: Music is an influence. Skating is a major influence. Guys usually have shag hair, and tighter yet baggy pants. Shops like PacSun. Converse and Vans are popular shoes. Often punk and/or emo edge.

   Urban- This is more of a rugged inspired look. It’s more natural and for accessories they use alot of natural stones like turqoise

   preppy- is more stream lined and alot of designer inspired styles.
   emo- have no clue
   punk- alot of messy hair and clothes that don’t tuck in and aren’t form fitting. Accessories alot of metal.

   urban – big hoop earrings, name-brand clothing (baby phat, rocawear, etc….. u get it) stilettos, boots, hairstyle, vivid eyeshadows
   preppy – abercrombie, hollister
   emo – this means liek gothic right? they wear lots of black
   punk – i think for ones that like rock music and wear that style
   skater – sort of like punk but more beachy i guess?

   well this may get confusing but here it is
   urban- it is kinda of preppy but they wear stuff that you wear on a bus, more of new york style
   preppy- is conservative, but is you are in highschool it is like abcrombie, hollister, an aero. that kinda defines you as a prep.
   emo- is not really a style it is kinda bangles and darker colors.
   people can be emo not style
   punk- it has colors that preps would not wear, like hot hot pink, all black, lots of jewelry, red. things that really make your eyes follow it
   and skater- are kinda tomboys that wear jeans or real mini skirts. they are so far from prep but are still closer, because it is a mixture of tomboy, prep, and urban
   And there is fashion in a nutshell.
