I need a dress and prom is 2 weeks away. I have a hour glass shape. I have a little jelly around my belly. So I was wondering if an empire waist dress would be best. What other types of dresses would be best for my shape. I have thick thighs and I really don’t like my arms so I don’t know what to look for. I don’t have a prom date so the dress has to be killer. I have to make a killer entrance and since I am going solo I want to look like a goddess walking through that door. I thought the best way to do that is to have a dress that make me look like I floated in on a cloud so I really need some suggestion since this is my senior prom.

   I like your idea of an empire waist, I wore one to my own prom (back in the prehistoric days) and I felt comfortable in it. If you’re worried about your thighs then don’t get a dress with a high slit. You could get a wrap to cover your arms.
   Look at the celebrities on the red carpet, if you notice they’re all wearing something similar and it’s not their designer fashions or their hair or their jewelery… If you really want to feel like a goddess, make your grand entrance wearing the two best things you can (and they’re both free)–a big smile and self confidence! Have a great time!

   i think you should oopt for a fabolous color dress and a great hemline.dont look for bland- neutral dresses like white/black/brown.. thats boring.. look for color thats will complement you skin tone and will stand out such as coral, gold, red, or a nice orange. dont go over board though. About the “jelly” [lol] look for a dress that has some “ruching” on the waist.. ruching is when you see that the dress has already made folds and wrinkles across your waist — so that’s why you should have a killer neckline so al the attention goes to your chest area rather than to your tummy.. DOnt get an EMpire waist dress because it will just make you seem pregnant if you get the wrong one.. empire dresses are very very tricky… so just to leave it simple.. when u go shopping make sure you opt for a 1. BRIGHT COLOR.. ( but as i said ..dont go overboard because we dont want u to look like u just came from the circus), a 2. Killer Neckline ( such as a halter) and 3. Some ruching or folds ( or even better, CORSET) on your waist..

   defintly not white.
   i heard white makes things look bigger
   maybe a color that looks good on you.
   it should be flowing and loose. comfortable.
   and maybe around the waste is should tie loosly and glide down.

   If you have small boobs go for the empire waist dress if you have big boobs try a halter or tube top dress

   Yes, an empire waist would be great. Don’t get anything tight, as it will accentuate your thighs, try for an a-line style. Try to get a long sleeve shrug to go over the gown you select. Try doing a search:

   You will see that alot will come up and you may be able to select something without going crazy. Good Luck

   NO empire wastes they will make you look chubby. Try a halter top that has a normal wastline and have it go to your knees and make sure the color is right for you. White is always a kill senior prom color but probaly a ton of other girls will be wearing so try for something that has a lot of color vibrancy and thats kinda a wide skirt for the floating effect.
