Which side are you taking in the debate? IF you are taking the side of the animal rights activist do your self a favour and limit the amount of information you take from PETA and other such groups.
The other debaters will have a field day ripping all the information you spent time researching and finding the flaws in all of it.
Particularly if you go with “baby seal” language you will be metaphorically ripped to shreds by the other team.
if you’re debating anti seal hunt and you’re up against a good team with good heads on their shoulders be prepared. They’re going to be pulling out: Scotland’s seals and the issues around them as examples as to why an EU ban is the pot calling the kettle black. They’re going to cite the 1987 ban again and again for every time you say Baby seal. They will cite harp seal biology to counter the fantasy version of cute baby seals. They might cite the Troak family that was deceived by animal rights activists when they offered to help show them the real hunt then turn around and lie about the hunt. That’s actually happened a few times. ( one news paper published a report of the hunt a few days before it even started claiming the writer had been there. )
If you bring up clubbing they will cite the proposed ban on hakipiks by the sealers association and how little it is used yet always portrayed by anti groups.
make sure you read up on these issues in order to know what you will be up against so you can be prepared.
