You might lose some weight but you could have gained muscle if you worked it off.
I would think so but try doing more than a couple of times a week. Go for 3-4 times a week to begin. Even if you have to cut down on the amout of time you use it. This will build your endurance and to begin with that is what counts.
To loose weight there is one simple formula- burn more calories than you take in.
Building muslce will help boost your metabolism.
I exercise every day or I get lazy and don’t keep it up.
NO! STOP EATING SO MUCH
You need to get a job doing physical labor, just think – they will actually pay you to get ripped, & you won’t need to concern yourself with a rowing machine. Other wise you might just pork out doing less than your capable of, such as sitting behind a desk.
i have a rowing machine….and it really helps to tone up flubby flesh…..and it helps for all round fitness, arms, legs, back, stomach and mental ability!! keep it up, but try not to over do it…. and vary the rate and speed of each ‘stroke’… if you enjoy alot, try rowing on water….very pleasing!! congrats on the babe…. x
my motto is that weigh tand width dont always go together…..when I was at my slimmest I was heavy, due to muscle which weighs more than fat. Concentrate on toning and forget about your weight, thats my advice
Rowing machines are great, they give a total body workout.
They are hard work at the beginning but they do provide good results .. dont buy one though, join the Gym.
yes it will help
its not just about Fat burnt but about building more muscle so you will need more calories per day just to maintain the weight you stop at so keep up the good work but don’t deprive yourself of a good balanced diet with plenty of protein and lots of water
i sometimes use the rowing machine whenever i visit the gym and i’m sure with enough persistence and with the use of other machines, you will lose the wait
A rowing machine should help you overall. Since you are using a good amount of intensity with every single part of your body – arms, back, shoulders, and pushing off with your legs. Be sure you are rowing correctly. I see too many people working their wrists and forearms instead. Also, mix up your cardio workouts. You don’t want to stick with the same machine for more than a few weeks. The best exercises for thighs and buttocks are squats and walking lunges. If you have a bad back then do not do squats.
it will help, but if you want to lose weight effectively you must combine exercise with sensible eating. don’t use a workout as an excuse to hit the goodies. Drink plenty of water use fruit such as apples and Walk as much as possible, this is a great low impact exercise which if it includes occasional hills and random fast paces thrown in can really shift weight and tone up fast. Above all do not starve yourself. little and often will keep your metabolism ticking over effectively with less chance of blow outs at the fridge. good luck.
Do 40 minutes at your target heart rate to burn calories. Your target heart rate will depend on your age and gender. Your machine might have a graph on it. It’s hard to build muscle with a piece of cardio equipment. If you want to tone you have to do resistance training. (weights)
A rowing machine is a pretty good machine to lose weight, not because of simple cardio workout, but because it helps add muscle in almost all major muscle groups. To be honest it hardly matters how many calories you burn while working out, but it you are gaining muscle mass, you are creating calorie burning factories. If you increase your muscle mass, you are sure to lose fat. Although, in the end you may weigh more, adding muscle will lower your body fat percentage and your waist size.
All this takes into consideration you have a healthy diet. To sum it up, rowing is good because it is resistance training and cardio at the same time. Eating right, and doing excercises to add muscle will lead to what you the results you are looking for. Best wishes.
Its the math! You say you are burning off 150-200 cals each time you use the machine. Do you have any idea how many cals are in a bar of chocolate? If you were to lift the rowing machine onto your back and run two miles each session i reckon the math. would be better
For geneal fitness and weight loss this is your best machine…

My mother was unhappy about her weight at the age of 40, and she got a rowing machine.
She loved listening to music, so got some headphones and started to listen to her music whilst rowing for about an hour a day, she just listened to the end of an album, and it seemed to fly by.
She lost a massive 4-5 stone, and she is a lot more toned, looking a lot younger and she feels amazing aswell she has said.
She now doesnt do as much as that, but she is just keeping to her current weight, as she doesnt want to lose any more, just maintain it.
You can do it.
